Young Money‘s Lil Twist recounts his initial run-in with newly signed Cash Money rap-metal crew Limp Bizkit, admitting he initially did not recognize Fred Durst when they met face-to-face.

According to rapper Twist, Cash Money boss Birdman officially introduced the 41 year-old rocker to him.

“I just met Fred Durst the other day in Miami,” Twist said in an interview. “Uncle Stunna introduced me and I just met him. I didn’t even know who it was when I got in the studio. I just thought I was meeting an old man. He was like, ‘Yeah, Limp Bizkit.’ I was like, ‘Oh my God, that’s Fred Durst!’ That sh*t was so crazy, he was skating around and stuff.” (XXL Mag)

If all goes accordingly, Bizkit’s first Cash Money record will drop this week.

Fans will not have to wait long to hear what the odd future pairing of Limp Bizkit and the YMCMB crew will sound like. A spokesperson for the home of Drake and Nicki Minaj confirmed to MTV News on Friday (March 2) that the crew will release a single online next week called “Ready to Go” featuring verses from their new labelmate Lil Wayne. (MTV)

A few days ago, Birdman stressed the importance of their joint record.

“It’ll be a great way to let the world know that [the band] is a part of us,” says Williams. The Cash Money head says that Bizkit frontman Fred Durst joined Lil Wayne in Miami the week after the Grammy Awards to bang out the one-off single. “It’s rock, but it’s hip-hop-rock,” says Birdman. “I think we got that hip-hop-rock swagger.” (Billboard)

Last month, Durst hopped on Twitter and announced his YMCMB affiliation.

“The game is missing danger, electricity, and rock n roll!!!!” Cash Money Limp Bizkit,” he tweeted Friday (February 24).

“Rock sh*t doesn’t rock anymore! They say the whole game done went pop so I’m back in this ho! #CMLB” (Fred Durst’s Twitter)

Lil Twist Defends Nicki Minaj’s Controversial Grammy Performance, “She Doesn’t Care What Anyone Else Thinks”

News: Lil Twist Defends Nicki Minaj’s Controversial Grammy Performance, “She Doesn’t Care What Anyone Else Thinks”

Young Money rapper Lil Twist is coming to the defense of fellow labelmate Nicki Minaj in light of her eyebrow-raising Grammy Awards performance last weekend.

Despite Minaj catching heat for her religious-themed set, Twist said the rapper was only being herself.

“I loved Nicki’s song and performance,” Twist beamed to XXLMag.com in New York City recently. “I love Nicki’s whole swagger. She doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. That’s what I really love about my sister and how she goes about herself. That performance was Nicki. That’s all I can, say–it was so Nicki.” (XXL Mag)

Catholic League president Bill Donohue recently aired out Minaj’s performance.

“Nicki Minaj, fresh off looking like a fool with Madonna at the Super Bowl, showed up last night (February 12) on the red carpet at the Grammys with a guy dressed like the pope. This was just a prelude of what was to come. Minaj’s performance began on stage with a mock confessional skit. This was followed by a taped video depicting a mock exorcism. With stained glass in the background, she appeared on stage again with choir boys and monks dancing. Perhaps the most vulgar part was the sexual statement that showed a scantily clad female dancer stretching backwards while an altar boy knelt between her legs in prayer. Finally, “Come All Ye Faithful” was sung while a man posing as a bishop walked on stage; Minaj was shown levitating.” (Catholic League)

A few days ago, Nicki defended her performance and questioned the critics’ remarks.

“I don’t know what is the big issue?” she asked. The 29-year-old said her five-minute live rendition of her songs “Roman’s Revenge” and “Roman Holiday,” which included dancing priests, an exorcism and levitation, was just a part of a movie she’s writing. “You know how people write plays and movies? That’s what I did. I wrote that and I gave the world a tiny little preview of what was to come. And so I have to perform it on the set in which it would be in the movie, right?” she said. Minaj, who is known for her outrageous style, walked the Grammy red carpet in an oversized red robe with a man dressed as a pope at her side. She said her performance, which featured a film clip, was partly inspired by the 1973 movie “The Exorcist.” (Associated Press)

Following Sunday’s performance, speculation on what angry Catholic responses would be the end result developed.

Those who tuned in for Nicki Minaj’s Grammy performance experienced a wave of emotion: First they were confused, then amused and then just plain angry. There was fire and a man dressed like the pope. Minaj levitated. Then, an exorcism. Viewers stared at their TVs, slack-jawed and unsure of what exactly they were watching. The religious response to Minaj’s performance will surely be furious — the Catholic League is likely firing up its angriest press release yet — but fans’ reactions were fast and frank. They had no idea what sort of spectacle they had just witnessed, but few of them liked it. (Washington Post)
